AS Roma stadium - Tor di Valle

The project of the new AS Roma stadium forms part of a wider development plan of the location of «Tor di Valle». The architecture of the new stadium pays homage to the rich history of AS Roma, by integrating at the same time the worldwide recognized innovative Italian design and aesthetics. With the aim of evoking one of the most beloved and representative symbols of Rome, the Coliseum, the project consists of an ultra-modern steel and glass stadium wrapped in a transparent stone screen. This 21-metres-high floating stone screen surrounds the stadium, giving a dynamic and modern interpretation of the stone arches of the famous arena. The seats will be located under an ultra-resistant translucent glass roof, which protects supporters against weather. The new stadium is designed according to an innovative and international concept of a space intended for both football and other types of events [sport events– concerts]. One peculiarity of the project is represented by the street which, at level 0.00, surrounds the stadium. It is a tunnel of 800 metres in length, which allows the access of VIPs and the teams inside their areas of competence. The new stadium will host up to 52500 people (expandable up to 60000). The AS Roma stadium is specifically designed to provide football lovers with an incomparable experience during matchdays. The proximity of the bleachers to the pitch and the resulting excellent view will provide fans with an intense and dynamic experience, with few comparisons in the rest of the world, thanks to the excellent view from any seat of the stadium.
